In a letter adressed to Boston Mayor Thomas Menino PETA not only shows a number of reasons that the overweight government official shuold try a vegetarian diet, but they also offer free meals to be delivered to both the Mayor and his staff.
For each pound the Mayor loses PETA will donate $500.00 worth of vegetarian food from to Boston Public Schools. As to whether or not the mayor will accept the challenge we do not yet know. Certainly this is a very public announcement and the mayor must be considering it seriously.
While PETA has been known for some extreme views in ther past, If this project proves effective it could renew the PETA image in the eyes of many. Great job, PETA!
